Douglas Fir

This iconic, evergreen tree is renowned for its tall, straight trunk and distinctive orange-brown bark that peels in large plates. Its long, dark green needles are grouped in bundles of three, creating a lush, feathery appearance. The Douglas Fir, with its narrow pyramidal habit, is one of the largest tree species. It features dark-green needles and pendulous cones. Highly valued for its timber, the Douglas Fir is also an important species for wildlife habitat and recreational areas. It grows best in full sun with medium to wet soil conditions.
