Arctostaphylos uva-ursi is a creeping evergreen shrub that is useful as a groundcover. Its small, dark-green, leathery leaves are adorned with pretty clusters of white-to-pink flowers in spring. Glossy berries appear in summer and darken to red in the fall. This adaptable plant grows well in poor soils and is drought, salt and wind tolerant.
