Festuca glauca / Blue Fescue Grass

Festuca glauca

This colorful, evergreen, dwarf ornamental grass is known for its silvery blue foliage and fine texture. It forms dense, dome-shaped clumps of narrow, needle-like leaves that radiate upward and outward. Its attractive powder-blue foliage is striking when paired with contrasting plants. In late spring to early summer, it produces feathery, greenish-yellow flower spikes that mature to a buff color, adding visual interest to the landscape. Best grown in full sun, it thrives in well-drained soils and is drought-tolerant once established. Ideal for use as a border plant, in rock gardens, or as a ground cover, it adds a striking contrast to other garden plants.
