Pennisetum alopecuroides ‘Moudry’ / Moudry Fountain grass

Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Moudry'

This ornamental grass is known for its distinctive and showy, foxtail-like dark purple to almost-black flower spikes that rise above an attractive clump of gracefully arching green leaves. The foliage turns bright golden-yellow in the fall, adding seasonal interest to the landscape. Easy to grow and drought-tolerant once established, it thrives in full sun to part shade and is highly adaptable to a variety of soil conditions, including medium to wet soils. Ideal for use as a specimen plant, in mass plantings, or as a vertical accent in borders and rain gardens, it provides excellent texture, color, and contrast to borders, foundations, and open areas.
