Pinus ponderosa – Ponderosa Pine

This majestic, evergreen tree is one of the most widely distributed pines in North America. Known for its tall, straight trunk and distinctive orange-brown bark that peels in large plates, the Ponderosa Pine is a striking addition to any landscape. Its long, dark green needles are grouped in bundles of three, creating a lush, feathery appearance. This tree has a deep taproot which makes it very wind resistant. It is adaptable to most soils and drought tolerant once established.
