The Giant Sequoia, also known as Sequoiadendron giganteum, is a coniferous evergreen tree of the cypress family. Giant sequoia specimens are the most massive trees on Earth. The sequoia can grow more than 250 feet into the sky, with a few rare specimens growing taller than 300 feet. However, it is the sequoia’s huge girth that sets it apart from all other trees.
